Financial Matters

What is the financial structure of the Center?

The Center is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. We are not endowed. The very nature of our mission dictates that in addition to providing a venue for counseling and spiritual nurture, we intend to make the benefits of such counseling available to the community on a subsidized basis. This requires some sacrifice on the part of the providers, as well as scholarship funding to supplement a fee scale that slides with the ability to pay. FMC Therapist's gave over $95,000 in discounted fees in 2006.

Who is responsible for establishing the budget?

The Center operates within budget guidelines established by the Center's Board of Directors with an objective of maximizing the care provided with the funds raised from outside funding sources interested in supporting our mission and ministry.

Does the Center take any insurance plans?

We are on no HMO or PPO insurance plans. However, we do offer a "superbill" which the client can send to his or her insurance company for whatever reimbursement is allowed by the policy. This transaction is completely between the client and the insurance company.

What are the fees for the Center's services?

The fee for services at the Center is $140 for a fifty-minute session, except for the psychiatrist's fee, which is on a different schedule of fees. However, each therapist provides discounted services to those who are in need and are unable to pay a full fee. Fees are assessed on a published sliding scale, based on the client's ability to pay. In the event the client expects reimbursement from insurance, fees are assessed at $140 per session. Scholarship funds to further assist clients in need are acquired by fund raising from various foundations, individuals, memorial gifts, and other entities in the Metro Atlanta area.

How do I pay?

The Center operates on a check, cash or credit card basis. We do not bill clients or carry receivables.

How do I make donations to the Center?

We are a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are not endowed  Making a donation directly to the McDonnell Center is a tax-deductible donation. We also have several scholarship funds and programs available.
